Arctic Monkeys is a British indie rock band formed in 2002 in Sheffield, England. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Alex Turner, lead guitarist Jamie Cook, bassist Nick O’Malley, and drummer Matt Helders. Arctic Monkeys have released six studio albums, the most successful of which is their 2006 debut, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. It was the fastest-selling debut album by a band in UK chart history, and has since sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Other notable albums include Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007), Suck It and See (2011), AM (2013), and Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino (2018).

Some of Arctic Monkeys’ most popular songs include “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor”, “Brianstorm”, “Fluorescent Adolescent”, “Do I Wanna Know?”, “R U Mine?”, and “Arabella”.

An interesting fact about Arctic Monkeys is that their song “505” is about the time Turner spent living in New York City.
