Acid Jazz
Acid jazz is a genre of music that combines elements of jazz, funk, soul, and disco. It originated in the late 1980s in the UK, when DJs began mixing jazz and funk records with electronic instruments. The term was coined by Gilles Peterson, a UK-based radio DJ, and it soon spread to the US, where it was embraced by the hip-hop and club scenes. It is characterized by its upbeat tempo, repetitive grooves, and heavy use of improvisation. Acid jazz is still popular today, and has influenced many other genres of music.
