The 2016 release by Yussef Kamaal blends contemporary jazz with broken beat, soul-jazz and deep house, creating a rhythmic, club-aware sound that felt fresh yet deeply rooted in Black British musical traditions. Built around drummer Yussef Dayes and keyboardist Kamaal Williams, the EP combines sharp improvisation with dancefloor momentum and melodic restraint.
