Why Dontcha is an LP by West, Bruce & Laing from 1972 released on the CBS, Windfall Records label.
About this album
Why Dontcha is a punchy blues rock debut that united Mountain’s Leslie West and Corky Laing with former Cream bassist Jack Bruce. Released in 1972, it draws on heavy riffing, muscular rhythm and Bruce’s distinctive singing and writing to create one of the era’s more volatile power-trio statements. The title track and cuts such as "The Doctor" and "Love Is Worth The Blues" show how the band balanced hard rock heft with blues phrasing and loose improvisation. Arriving at a moment when heavier, riff-led rock was expanding rapidly, the album helped establish the trio as a short-lived but memorable supergroup.
