The Swell Season – Forward (Ivory vinyl)

The Swell Season are back in 2025. After a limited number of sold-out shows, including at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the duo are back with new music.

A studio session that began as an attempt to write a few new songs for the tour turned into a full album, aptly titled "Forward" - their first full album in 16 years following the huge worldwide success of their Oscar-winning role in the movie "Once". The story and accompanying soundtrack went on to become an award-winning musical worldwide.

The album consists of 8 tracks written by Glen Hansard and Markeeta Irglovae, who alternate lead vocals. Building on the foundation and respecting their shared history, they move forward as two equals, supporting and uplifting each other. Accompanied by old band members and produced by Sturla Mio Thorisson, they create a sound for The Swell Season that is both old and new.
