About this album
Sticky Fingers is one of The Rolling Stones’ defining late-period albums, sharpening their blues-rock bite while widening their palette with country, soul and hard-edged rock & roll. Released in 1971, it marked the band’s first studio set on their own Rolling Stones Records imprint and paired Mick Jagger’s sly vocals with Keith Richards’ riff-led songwriting and slide guitar. From “Brown Sugar” and “Wild Horses” to the expansive jam of “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”, the record showed the Stones balancing grit, melody and menace with unusual ease. Its critical stature and lasting popularity have made it a cornerstone of the band’s catalogue.
