Practice What You Preach is an LP by Testament from 1989 released on the Atlantic, Megaforce Worldwide label.
About this album
Practice What You Preach is Testament’s breakthrough thrash album, balancing speed, precision and sharper songcraft with more pointed lyrical themes. Released in 1989, it followed the band’s first two records and found the San Francisco Bay Area group broadening their sound without losing intensity. Built around Chuck Billy’s commanding vocals and the dual-guitar work of Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson, the album delivered a more controlled, memorable form of thrash on songs such as its title track and the reflective 'The Ballad'. Its mix of technical bite, aggression and accessibility helped cement Testament as one of the scene’s leading names.
