Remain In Light is an LP by Talking Heads from 1980 released on the Sire label.
About this album
Remain in Light is Talking Heads’ boldest and most influential album, a leap from new wave irony into dense, rhythm-driven art-funk. Released in 1980, it was produced by the band with Brian Eno and built from layered percussion, interlocking guitars and looping electronic textures, with David Byrne’s anxious, fragmented lyrics pushing the songs into unsettling new territory. Tracks such as Once in a Lifetime, Born Under Punches and Crosseyed and Painless helped define the record’s reputation as a landmark of post-punk experimentation. Its impact on alternative rock, dance music and art-pop has made it one of the era’s most enduring statements.
