Tonight I’m Yours finds Rod Stewart updating his arena-sized rock with a tighter, more contemporary pop-rock sound. Issued in 1981, the album was produced by Rod Stewart, Jim Cregan and Tom Dowd, and it folds in the new-wave momentum of the era without losing Stewart’s raspy, familiar voice. The title track and “Young Turks” became major highlights, the latter emerging as one of his best-known early-80s singles and helping the album stay commercially visible.
