Queen is an LP by Queen from 1976 released on the Elektra label.
About this album
Queen’s debut album introduced the band’s distinctive blend of hard rock heft, theatrical drama and multi-tracked vocal power. Issued in 1973, it set out many of the traits that would define their rise: Brian May’s orchestrated guitar work, Freddie Mercury’s commanding presence, and songs that moved between heavy riffs, fantasy imagery and sharp melodic hooks. Tracks such as Keep Yourself Alive and Liar showed a group already stretching beyond straightforward rock into something more elaborate and distinctive. Though later eclipsed by the band’s global breakthroughs, the album remains a crucial first statement and an important early marker of Queen’s identity.
