Bat Out Of Hell is an LP by Meat Loaf from 1977 released on the Epic label.
About this album
Bat Out of Hell is Meat Loaf’s grand, over-the-top breakthrough, turning theatrical rock into a mainstream phenomenon. Written by Jim Steinman and produced with Todd Rundgren, the 1977 album fused hard rock, musical theatre drama and irresistible melody on songs such as the title track, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth and Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad. Its long, slow rise made it one of the era’s most remarkable successes, eventually selling in huge numbers and becoming Meat Loaf’s signature statement. The record’s excess, humour and emotion helped define a whole corner of arena rock.
