The Last Record Album is a sharp, assured highlight in Little Feat’s 1970s run, balancing groove-heavy blues rock, boogie and Southern soul with stronger songwriting and more complex arrangements. Issued in 1975, it arrived after the band had already built a cult reputation for their slippery rhythms, Lowell George’s distinctive guitar work and the interplay between rock, R&B and country influences. Featuring favourites such as All That You Dream and Long Distance Love, the album helped define Little Feat’s loose but finely tuned sound and remains one of their most admired releases from the era.
