About this album
Led Zeppelin’s debut album set the blueprint for hard rock by turning blues roots into something heavier, louder and more dangerous. Recorded in 1968 and released in 1969, the record introduced the quartet’s blistering chemistry: Jimmy Page’s production and guitar work, Robert Plant’s high-wire vocals, John Paul Jones’s disciplined low end and John Bonham’s earthshaking drumming. Songs such as Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused and Communication Breakdown showed a band already fully formed, balancing raw power with control. More than a first album, it announced a new kind of stadium-scale rock and became one of the most influential debuts in the genre.
