Stormwatch is an LP by Jethro Tull from 1979 released on the Chrysalis label.
About this album
Stormwatch is one of Jethro Tull’s most distinctive late-1970s albums, blending folk rock and progressive rock with a darker, more reflective mood. Issued in 1979, it followed a run of ambitious concept-driven records and found Ian Anderson turning towards environmental concerns, coastal imagery and uneasy social commentary. The album’s writing is tighter and more restless than much of the band’s earlier work, with songs such as North Sea Oil, Dun Ringill and Dark Ages balancing acoustic colour, hard-edged rock and shifting arrangements. Often heard as a closing statement on Tull’s classic 1970s era, it shows the group still pushing its folk-prog identity in a more shadowed direction.
