G N' R Lies is an LP by Guns N' Roses from 1988 released on the Geffen Records label.
About this album
G N' R Lies broadened Guns N’ Roses’ appeal without softening their edge, pairing feral early live recordings with an acoustic second side that yielded the hit Patience. Arriving in 1988 after the breakthrough of Appetite for Destruction, it showed the band could turn from sleazy hard rock and punk-inflected chaos to a more measured, songwriter-led sound without losing intensity. The record also included their raw cover of Mama Kin and the controversial One in a Million, making it one of the group’s most talked-about releases. Commercially strong and culturally divisive, it helped cement Guns N’ Roses as one of rock’s biggest bands.
