The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is an LP by Genesis from 1975 released on the Charisma label.
About this album
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is Genesis at their most ambitious and theatrical, a sprawling 1974 concept album that pushed the band’s progressive rock vision into surreal, harder-edged territory. It was the final studio record to feature Peter Gabriel, whose lyrics follow the fractured journey of Rael through a strange New York underworld, while Tony Banks, Steve Hackett, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins build one of the group’s most intricate and dramatic musical statements. Produced by Genesis with John Burns, the album’s restless mood and standout sequences such as the title track, In the Cage and The Carpet Crawlers helped secure its place as a landmark of art rock.
