    Doomsday For The Deceiver is a fierce thrash-metal debut that established Flotsam And Jetsam as one of the genre’s most exciting American bands. Released in 1986, the album pairs speed-metal attack with precise riffing, rapid-fire drumming and Eric A.K.’s urgent vocals, giving songs like “Hammerhead” and the title track real bite. Its mix of raw energy and tight musicianship helped it stand out in the crowded mid-’80s metal scene, while the darker cover of “Fade To Black” showed the band could bring focus and character to a well-known song. It remains a landmark early statement in US thrash.
