    About this album

Earthquake is a fierce debut from Electric Sun, the post-Scorpions project led by guitarist Uli Jon Roth. Released in 1979, it blends hard rock power with space rock, Krautrock momentum and psychedelic colour, giving Roth room to stretch out in long, exploratory guitar passages. The album’s blend of heavy riffing and cosmic atmosphere marked him out as a distinctive voice in late-70s rock, more interested in expansive sound and improvisation than compact radio form. Earthquake became a cult favourite among fans of adventurous guitar rock and remains a key statement from Roth’s early solo period.
