Out Of The Blue is Electric Light Orchestra’s most ambitious and best-known album, a lavish double set that pushed Jeff Lynne’s Beatles-inspired pop vision into full symphonic scale. Released in 1977, it refined the band’s blend of strings, harmonies and synthesised textures while delivering some of their most enduring songs, including Turn to Stone and Sweet Talkin’ Woman. The album captured ELO at their commercial peak and helped define the group’s ornate, melodic take on classic rock and pop rock. Its scale, craft and hit-making instinct made it one of the era’s most distinctive blockbuster records.
