Trumpeter Eddie Henderson became famous in the early 1970s as a member of Herbie Hancock's pioneering jazz fusion band Mwandishi. On his Blue Note album "Heritage" in 1976, Henderson picked up on this time together with former colleagues from Hancock's band. The album contains jazz-funk numbers that are sometimes dark, sometimes spacey, but always irresistibly groovy.
