About this album
C'mon Everybody - 20 Rock 'n' Roll Classics is a compact showcase for Eddie Cochran’s brief but hugely influential career. Issued in 1988, this compilation gathers the songs that made him a rock ’n’ roll standard-bearer, from the title hit and “Summertime Blues” to “C’mon Everybody” and “Twenty Flight Rock”. Cochran’s clean guitar work, urgent rhythms and teenage-boredom lyrics helped define the sound and attitude of late-1950s rock. His blend of country, blues and pop remains a blueprint for later guitar bands, and this set underlines why he is still regarded as one of the genre’s most important early stylists.
