DJ Notoya – Funk Tide (Tokyo Jazz-Funk From Electric Bird 1978-87)

Following the success of the "Tokyo Glow" compilation, Wewantsounds has once again teamed up with Japanese DJ Notoya from Tokyo to sift through Electric Bird's rich catalog and present an eclectic selection of sunny jazz-funk gems recorded for the label between 1978 and 1987.

A tasteful selection featuring Yasuaki Shimizu, Toshiyuki Honda and Mikio Masuda, as well as some American musicians such as Ronnie Foster and Bobby Lyle. Most of the tracks are their debut outside Japan, and the album was designed by Optigram/Manuel Sepulveda with commentary by DJ Notoya. Audio newly remastered in Tokyo by King Records.
