Low is one of David Bowie’s boldest and most influential reinventions. Released in 1977, it marked the start of his Berlin period with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti, pairing concise art-rock songs with an exploratory second side of ambient and experimental instrumentals. Tracks such as Sound and Vision and Warszawa show Bowie shifting away from glam drama towards a cooler, fractured sound that helped reshape late-1970s rock. Its mix of atmosphere, discipline and emotional distance made the album a landmark of post-punk, electronic music and art rock alike.
