Dúlamán is the album where Clannad’s modern Irish folk identity came sharply into focus. Released in 1976, it builds on traditional material with lilting arrangements, close harmonies and a spare, acoustic intensity that set the band apart from more conventional folk revival acts. The title song became one of their best-known pieces, while interpretations such as “Two Sisters” and “Siúil A Rún” show their gift for making older songs feel immediate and vital. As an early release in a long and influential career, Dúlamán helped establish Clannad as important interpreters of Celtic music.
