O.K. Ken? is a tough, unvarnished blues-rock statement that captures Chicken Shack at full strength in 1969. The British group built its reputation on Stan Webb’s sharp guitar work and Christine Perfect’s expressive vocals, and this second album sharpened that formula with a heavier, more electric edge. Arriving during the late-1960s boom in UK blues rock, it helped define Chicken Shack as more than a club-band outfit, balancing original material with faithful roots influence. Its best-known songs, including Baby’s Got Me Crying, show how the band could turn classic blues feeling into punchy, memorable rock.
