Produced with considerable polish, the album balances radio-ready hooks with tighter rhythmic interplay and touches of Latin jazz, heard in songs such as Big Shot, Honesty and Zanzibar. It became a major commercial success and helped confirm Joel as a defining mainstream singer-songwriter of the late 1970s.
