Let Them Eat Bingo is an LP by Beats International from 1990 released on the Go! Beat label.
About this album
Let Them Eat Bingo is a sharp, inventive debut that turned Beats International’s sample-heavy club ideas into a crossover statement. Led by Norman Cook, the group fused breakbeat, dub, acid house and reggae into a restless collage that sounded both playful and pointed. Released in 1990, the album is best known for the UK No. 1 single Dub Be Good to Me, whose bassline-driven reworking of Soul II Soul and the Clash helped define early-90s sample culture. Elsewhere, the record mixes political bite, bass pressure and dancefloor invention, making it one of the era’s most distinctive British electronic albums.
