    Killer is the album that turned Alice Cooper from a cult hard rock act into one of the defining names in shock rock. Released in 1971, it sharpened the group’s blend of sleazy riffing, dark humour and stage-ready menace, with songs such as Under My Wheels, Be My Lover and Dead Babies giving the record lasting bite. Produced by Bob Ezrin, the album pushed the band’s sound into tighter, more ambitious territory while keeping the grotesque theatricality that made them notorious. Widely regarded as one of the key early Alice Cooper albums, Killer helped set the template for horror-tinged hard rock that followed.
