Issued in 1975, the compilation gathers the songs that made Green a defining voice of the early 1970s, from the aching devotion of “Tired of Being Alone” to the timeless sway of “Let’s Stay Together”. Working with producer Willie Mitchell and the Hi Records team in Memphis, Green fused supple grooves, church-rooted phrasing and intimate emotion into songs that became radio staples and genre touchstones.
