Permanent Vacation is an LP by Aerosmith from 1987 released on the Geffen Records label.
About this album
Permanent Vacation marked Aerosmith’s commercial and creative return, reviving the band with sharper songs and a more disciplined hard-rock sound. Released in 1987, the album followed a difficult early-1980s stretch and helped re-establish the group on rock radio and MTV. Working with outside songwriters and producers, Aerosmith streamlined its bluesy Southern rock roots into a hook-heavy, arena-sized update, led by signature cuts such as Dude (Looks Like a Lady), Rag Doll and Angel. The result became one of the band’s key late-era records, widely seen as the album that set up their 1990s resurgence.
