About this album
Highway to Hell is the album that turned AC/DC from cult hard-rock favourites into global stadium contenders. Released in 1979, it was the band’s last record with Bon Scott and the first produced by Mutt Lange, whose sharp, punchy approach helped the group translate its raw barroom energy into a cleaner, more commanding sound. The title track, along with songs such as Girls Got Rhythm and Shot Down in Flames, set a template for riff-driven hard rock built on simplicity, menace and momentum. Widely regarded as one of AC/DC’s key albums, it remains a defining statement of late-70s rock power.
