Yvonne Elliman is an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 1970s for her hit single “If I Can't Have You”. She began her career as a backing vocalist for Eric Clapton and was part of the Jesus Christ Superstar musical tour in 1971.

Her debut album Rising Sun was released in 1973 and featured the hit single “Love Me” which peaked at number 3 on the US pop chart. Her follow up album Yvonne Elliman was released in 1974 and featured her most successful single “If I Can't Have You” which topped the US and UK charts. Her third album Night Flight (1975) was also successful, with the single “Love Pains” reaching number 4 in the UK.

Yvonne Elliman has released a total of six albums, with her most recent being Cake of Stone (2009). Some of her other popular songs include “I Don't Know How to Love Him”, “Hello Stranger” and “I Can't Get You Out of My Mind”.

An interesting fact about Yvonne Elliman is that she is the daughter of Hawaiian entertainer/musician/painter Adella Elliman.
