Woody Shaw Vinyl Records

Woody Shaw (1944-1989) was an American jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist, and composer. He was known for his highly influential hard bop style of playing and his innovative approach to jazz improvisation. He released more than 20 albums as a leader, and collaborated with many other prominent jazz musicians. Shaw's standout albums include Stepping Stones: Live at the Village Vanguard (1978), Rosewood (1977), and Solid (1984). His most well-known songs include β€œThe Moontrane” (1973), β€œThe Changing Scenes” (1978), and β€œLittle Red’s Fantasy” (1984). An interesting fact about Woody Shaw is that he was the first jazz musician to record on the then-new digital audio tape (DAT) technology. He was an early adopter of digital recording, and was the first jazz artist to record an entire album digitally.
