Wendell Harrison is an American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, arranger, and educator. He is a Detroit-based musician who has released over 20 albums as a leader, and has also collaborated with other jazz artists such as Marcus Belgrave, Kenny Cox, Doug Hammond, and Tootie Heath. He has been an influential figure in the Detroit jazz scene for more than five decades.

Some of his standout albums include The Voice of Wendell Harrison (1976), Reunion (1977), and The Continuing Story of Wendell Harrison (1986). Notable songs include "Voice of the Saxophone," "Soft Winds," and "Music in the Wind."

An interesting fact about Wendell Harrison is that he is the father of Detroit-based hip-hop producer and rapper Waajeed.
