Teddy Edwards – Sunset Eyes (Blue Note Tone Poet, Mono)

In the early 1990s, tenor saxophonist Teddy Edwards from Jackson, Mississippi, was one of the "forgotten jazz heroes" alongside Joe Henderson, Shirley Horn and Abbey Lincoln, who experienced a late renaissance thanks to a series of outstanding recordings for Verve. With his blues-soaked, powerful sound and imaginative original compositions, however, he was already captivating on the 1960 album "Sunset Eyes".
