UB40 Vinyl Records

UB40 is a British reggae and pop band formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. The band is made up of original members Ali Campbell (vocals, guitar), Astro (vocals, trumpet), Robin Campbell (vocals, guitar), Earl Falconer (bass, vocals), Brian Travers (saxophone), Norman Hassan (percussion, vocals), Jimmy Brown (drums), and Duncan Campbell (vocals).

The band's debut album, Signing Off, was released in 1980 and is considered to be one of the best British reggae albums of all time. It included the hit single "Food for Thought" which reached number 8 in the UK Singles Chart. UB40 followed this success with Labour of Love (1983) and UB44 (1982), both of which reached number 1 in the UK Albums Chart. The albums included the hit singles "Red Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling in Love", both of which reached the top 10 in the US.

Other standout albums and songs from UB40 include their 1988 album Promises and Lies, which included the hits "Kingston Town" and "Sing Our Own Song". The album sold over 2 million copies worldwide and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1994. Other popular songs by UB40 include "Here I Am (Come and Take Me)", "The Way You Do the Things You Do", and "I Got You Babe" (with Chrissie Hynde).

An interesting fact about UB40 is that they were the first British reggae group to have a number 1 hit in both the UK and US, with their cover of the Elvis Presley classic "Can't Help Falling in Love".
