Toyah is an English new wave band formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. The original lineup included lead singer Toyah Willcox, bassist Joel Bogen, guitarist Phil Spalding, and drummer Mark Henry. The band released eight studio albums between 1981 and 1993, along with numerous singles and EPs.
The band's most successful albums include their 1981 debut, The Blue Meaning, 1983's Anthem, and 1986's Minx. Their most successful singles include 1981's "It's a Mystery" and "I Want to Be Free," both of which charted in the UK Top 10.
