Tom Robinson Band (TRB) is a British rock band formed in 1976 by singer, songwriter, and bassist Tom Robinson. TRB is best known for their 1978 single "2-4-6-8 Motorway", which was a top 5 hit in the UK Singles Chart and is considered to be a classic of the new wave genre.

TRB's debut album, Power in the Darkness (1978), was a critical and commercial success. It spawned the hit single "2-4-6-8 Motorway" as well as "Up Against the Wall", "Don't Take No for an Answer" and "Better Decide Which Side You're On". TRB's follow-up album, TRB Two (1979), was also a success and featured the single "Glad to Be Gay".

TRB's third album, The Winter of '79 (1980), featured a more synth-pop sound and the single "Living in the Dark". The band's final studio album, TRB Three (1982), featured the single "War Baby".

TRB's most famous song, "2-4-6-8 Motorway", has been covered by numerous artists including Bruce Springsteen and The Pretenders. The song has also been featured in the films Thelma and Louise and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

An interesting fact about TRB is that the band was the first British act to appear on the US TV show Saturday Night Live.
