The Twilights Vinyl Records

The Twilights were an Australian pop rock band formed in 1964 in Melbourne, Victoria. The original line-up featured Glenn Shorrock (vocals), Terry Britten (guitar/vocals), Terry Wells (drums/vocals), Alan Sandow (bass/vocals) and Peter Brideoake (guitar/vocals). The band had a string of hits in Australia and the UK during the 1960s, including “Needle in a Haystack”, “What's Wrong With the Way I Live”, “The Lonely Man” and “Once in a Blue Moon”.

The band's standout albums include their 1965 debut album, Meet The Twilights, and 1966's Once In A Blue Moon, which contained the hit single of the same name. They also released several EPs, including the 1965 EP Needle In A Haystack and the 1966 EP What's Wrong With the Way I Live.

The Twilights are best known for their 1965 hit single “Needle in a Haystack”, which reached No. 1 on the Australian singles chart and was their biggest international hit. Other popular songs include “What's Wrong With the Way I Live”, “The Lonely Man” and “Once in a Blue Moon”.

An interesting fact about The Twilights is that they were the first Australian band to perform on the British music show Top of the Pops. They performed their single “Needle in a Haystack” in 1966.
