The Triffids Vinyl Records

The Triffids were an influential Australian alternative rock band formed in Perth in 1978. The band's original line-up included David McComb, Robert McComb, Alsy MacDonald, Martyn Casey and Jill Birt. The band released five albums during their lifetime and are best known for their critically acclaimed 1986 album Born Sandy Devotional, which featured the singles "Wide Open Road" and "Bury Me Deep in Love".

The band's two most commercially successful albums were 1986's Born Sandy Devotional and 1988's Calenture. Born Sandy Devotional was voted by Rolling Stone Australia as the 16th greatest Australian album of all time, while Calenture was voted the 44th greatest.

Some of The Triffids' most popular songs include "Wide Open Road", "Bury Me Deep in Love", "Beautiful Waste", "Stolen Property" and "Tender Is the Night".

An interesting fact about The Triffids is that they were one of the first bands to use the term "alternative country" to describe their sound. They have been credited as a major influence on the emergence of the genre.
