The Streets Vinyl Records

The Streets are an English hip hop and garage act from Birmingham, England, founded in 1994 by Mike Skinner. They are best known for their 2002 debut album Original Pirate Material, which was a breakthrough success in the UK and helped to establish the emerging UK garage scene. The album contained the singles "Let's Push Things Forward" and "Weak Become Heroes" which were both top ten hits in the UK.

Their second album, A Grand Don't Come for Free, was released in 2004 and was an even bigger success, going straight to number one in the UK and becoming certified Platinum. It featured the singles "Fit But You Know It", "Dry Your Eyes" and "Blinded by the Lights", which all reached the top ten in the UK.

The Streets' third album, The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living, was released in 2006 and reached number one in the UK Albums Chart. It featured the singles "When You Wasn't Famous", "Never Went to Church" and "Prangin Out".

In 2011, The Streets released their fourth album Computers and Blues, which featured the singles "Going Through Hell", "Trust Me" and "Soldier". The album was their last before the group split up in 2011.

An interesting fact about The Streets is that the group was one of the first UK hip-hop acts to gain mainstream success, paving the way for the UK garage scene.
