The Roots Vinyl Records

The Roots are an American hip hop band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed in 1987 by Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter and Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson. They are widely considered to be one of the greatest live acts in hip hop, with a reputation for their live shows that often involve audience participation, improvisation, and covers of other artists' material.

The Roots have released 13 studio albums, the most recent being End Game in 2019. Their biggest commercial success came with their fifth studio album, Things Fall Apart (1999), which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum by the RIAA. The album included their most popular single, "You Got Me", featuring Erykah Badu.

The Roots have also released several acclaimed albums including Phrenology (2002), Game Theory (2006), Rising Down (2008), How I Got Over (2010), Undun (2011) and …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin (2014).

An interesting fact about The Roots is that they have been the house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon since 2014.
