The Marshall Tucker Band Vinyl Records

The Marshall Tucker Band is an American rock and country music band, formed in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 1972. The band's original lineup included lead vocalist Doug Gray, guitarist Toy Caldwell, bassist Tommy Caldwell, keyboardist/flutist George McCorkle, drummer Paul Riddle, and saxophonist Jerry Eubanks.

The Marshall Tucker Band released their self-titled debut album in 1973, which included their signature song “Can’t You See.” This song became a major hit and has since been covered by numerous artists. The band released their second album, A New Life, in 1974. In 1975, the band released the album Searchin’ For a Rainbow, which featured their hit single “Heard It in a Love Song.” This song would become their highest-charting single, peaking at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The band's other popular albums include Carolina Dreams (1977), Where We All Belong (1978), and Running Like the Wind (1980). The band released their last album in 1984, titled Still Smokin’.

The Marshall Tucker Band has been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and has won numerous awards, including the Academy of Country Music’s Single of the Year award for their song “Heard It in a Love Song.”

An interesting fact about The Marshall Tucker Band is that they are one of the first bands to incorporate elements of jazz, blues, and R&B into their country rock sound.
