The Mamas & The Papas Vinyl Records

The Mamas & The Papas were an American folk rock vocal group formed in Los Angeles, California in 1965. The group consisted of John Phillips, Denny Doherty, Cass Elliot and Michelle Phillips. Their sound was characterized by close vocal harmonies, acoustic guitars, and catchy melodies.

The Mamas & The Papas released five studio albums between 1966 and 1971, with their most successful album being 1966’s “If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears” which reached #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Standout songs from this album include “California Dreamin’”, “Monday Monday”, and “I Saw Her Again Last Night”. Other standout albums by The Mamas & The Papas include 1967’s “The Mamas & The Papas Deliver” and 1970’s “The Papas & The Mamas”. An interesting fact about The Mamas & The Papas is that they were the first group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame without having a single hit song. They were inducted in 1998.
