The Crickets Vinyl Records

The Crickets were an American rock and roll band from Lubbock, Texas, formed in 1955 by lead singer and guitarist Buddy Holly. The band's first lineup included Holly, Joe B. Mauldin on bass, Niki Sullivan on rhythm guitar, and Jerry Allison on drums. They were the backing group for Holly's career in the late 1950s, and the original members recorded a number of the singer's most popular songs, including "That'll Be the Day", "Oh Boy!", and "Maybe Baby". The band released two studio albums during their time together: The "Chirping" Crickets in 1957 and In Style with the Crickets in 1959. The albums featured some of the band's biggest hits, such as "That'll Be the Day", "Oh Boy!", "Not Fade Away", "Words of Love", and "Rave On". The band also had a number of other notable songs, such as "Think It Over", "Listen to Me", "Well...All Right", and "Early in the Morning". They were also the first group to record a song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, "I'll Be on My Way". The Crickets disbanded in 1959 following Holly's death in a plane crash. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. An interesting fact about The Crickets is that they were the first group to be signed to the newly-created label, Brunswick Records, in 1956. The label was founded by legendary record producer, Ahmet Ertegun, who also signed Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin to the label.
