The Clash Vinyl Records

The Clash was an English punk rock band formed in London in 1976. The band originally consisted of Joe Strummer (vocals, rhythm guitar), Mick Jones (lead guitar, vocals), Paul Simonon (bass guitar, vocals) and Terry Chimes (drums). The Clash rose to fame during the original wave of punk rock in the late 1970s and were integral in the evolution of punk into a more diverse musical style. They blended elements of punk, reggae, funk, and rockabilly into their music, and they released five studio albums before disbanding in 1986.

The Clash's most successful and well-known album is their 1977 self-titled debut album, which reached #12 on the UK Albums Chart and featured iconic songs such as "White Riot", "Career Opportunities" and "London's Burning". Their 1979 album London Calling was their commercial breakthrough and is now considered one of the greatest albums of all time. It was certified platinum in the UK and is often cited as one of the most influential punk albums of all time. Other notable albums from The Clash include Give 'Em Enough Rope (1978), Combat Rock (1982) and Cut the Crap (1985).

Notable songs from The Clash include "Should I Stay or Should I Go", "Rock the Casbah", "Straight to Hell" and "Train in Vain".

An interesting fact about The Clash is that they were the first punk rock band to sign with a major label when they signed to CBS Records in 1977.
