The Byrds Vinyl Records

The Byrds were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1964. The original lineup consisted of Roger McGuinn (lead vocals, guitar), Gene Clark (guitar, vocals), David Crosby (guitar, vocals), Chris Hillman (bass guitar, vocals) and Michael Clarke (drums). Their blend of folk and rock music, especially their cover of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man," made them one of the most successful and influential bands of the 1960s.

The Byrds released their first album, Mr. Tambourine Man, in 1965. The album featured their version of Dylan's song, as well as the folk-rock originals "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better" and "The Bells of Rhymney." Their second album, Turn! Turn! Turn!, featured more originals, including the title track, "She Don't Care About Time" and "Set You Free This Time." The group also released the psychedelic-leaning Fifth Dimension (1966), Younger Than Yesterday (1967) and The Notorious Byrd Brothers (1968).

The Byrds' most successful single was a cover of Pete Seeger's "Turn! Turn! Turn!" which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. Other notable singles include "Mr. Tambourine Man," "Eight Miles High," "So You Want to Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star," "My Back Pages" and "Chestnut Mare."

An interesting fact about The Byrds is that, despite their success in the 1960s, they disbanded in 1973 and didn't reunite until 1989. Since then, the band has released two studio albums and several live albums.
