He is best known for being part of the Benny Goodman Trio, which he joined in 1935 and performed with for three years. He also performed with the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong. Wilson was a major influence on jazz piano, and his melodic and sophisticated style was a major influence on the swing era.
