Tanita Tikaram Vinyl Records

Tanita Tikaram is a British-German pop/folk singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1980s. She is best known for her 1988 debut album, Ancient Heart, and its lead single, "Twist in My Sobriety".

Tikaram began her musical career in 1987, signing with WEA Records and releasing her debut single, "Good Tradition". The single became a Top 10 hit in the UK, reaching number 8 on the UK Singles Chart. This success was followed by her 1988 debut album, Ancient Heart, which peaked at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified platinum in the UK. The album spawned several singles, including "Twist in My Sobriety", which peaked at number 9 in the UK, and "Good Tradition", which peaked at number 8.

In 1991, Tikaram released her second album, The Sweet Keeper. The album peaked at number 6 in the UK and was certified gold. It was followed by her 1993 album, Eleven Kinds of Loneliness, which reached number 9 in the UK. In 1998, Tikaram released her fourth album, Lovers in the City.

Tikaram has also released several compilation albums, including The Best of Tanita Tikaram (1996) and The Collection (2008).

An interesting fact about Tanita Tikaram is that she was the first artist to be played on BBC Radio 1 when the station was launched in 1967.
