T. Rex Vinyl Records

T. Rex, also known as Tyrannosaurus Rex, was an English rock band formed in 1967 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Marc Bolan. The band was initially a psychedelic folk act, but Bolan quickly changed the sound to a more rock-oriented style. Bolan and drummer Steve Peregrin Took comprised the core of the band, which had a revolving line-up of additional members.

T. Rex's most successful period was between 1970 and 1973, when they released a string of hit singles and albums. Their standout albums include Electric Warrior (1971), The Slider (1972) and Tanx (1973). These albums spawned the hit singles “Bang a Gong (Get It On)", "Jeepster", "Telegram Sam", "Metal Guru" and "20th Century Boy".

An interesting fact about T. Rex is that Marc Bolan was the first artist to have a number one single on the UK Singles Chart with a glam rock song. His single "Ride a White Swan" reached the top spot in 1971.
